OAKLAND, Calif. -- Embattled Oakland police chief Wayne Tucker, whose force has been rocked by a drug search warrant scandal and an FBI investigation, has resigned from his post.

Tucker’s spokesman Jeff Thomason told KTVU that reports of the chief’s resignation “were probably true.”

Mayor Ron Dellums has called a 9 a.m. news conference to make an announcement about Tucker’s future with the force.

When approached Monday night, Chief Tucker would not comment on the status of his job, even as word spread around City Hall that he had resigned. Reports circulating were so specific that one city councilmember said a replacement had already been selected for Tucker.

Chief Tucker sat in a balcony at Oakland City Hall as Mayor Ron Dellums called for changes at OPD during Monday night's state of the city address.

Dellums said the perception on Oakland streets is that some officers are not being held accountable for their actions.

Oakland is the city where the BART police shooting of a young black man occured.

Oakland has moved radically to the left, along with neighboring cities and was most recently mayored by Jerry "Moonbeam" Brown, who is now the state Attorney General (snicker).

The entire government apparatus has degenerated toward third world anarchy, with both Oakland and BART police at the forefront of the charge to the feudal age.

I propose that extreme socialism is largely to blame.

All true...however I will note ‘Moonbeam Brown’ has been all over the leftwinuts on this, and the riots that resulted.

Surprised me to be honest, but its the truth.

There have been scores of young black men killed there. Most not by the police.

True, and true to form Brown is entirely self serving, so don't be surprised.

He says they are going to identify the riots from the videotapes and prosecute.

We’ll see.

We’ll see.

Yep.

Brown was most famous for making a tiny part of Oakland presentable for his own personal profit, while letting the rest of the city rot defenseless under Black Muslim mafia and assorted gang banger groups.

Of course he had his own personal guards, paid for by the peons.
