I don’t think the Old Guard can stop her in 2012 because she has the grassroots just like Dr. Coburn had in 2004 when the Old Guard in Oklahoma tried to stop him in the primary. Grassroots got him elected here in Oklahoma and sent the Old Guard of OK reeling. The GOP of Congress should have taken a lesson before putting Cole in charge of NRCC when he could not get his guy elected against the Coburn grassroots.
Grassroots will control the next election and you can take it to the bank. RNC if they elect Duncan might as well close up the tent because all the grassroots money will be directed away from the RNC to PACs like Sarah’s. I already stopped my monthly to RNC last year and won’t restart until I see who is Chair. Will set up a monthly to Sarah’s PAC and increase it if RNC elects anyone that doesn’t clean up that inefficient and ineffective organization.
How much Old Guard is there anyway? Can’t be much, and if they can’t see the writing on the wall, the signs of the times and hear the voice of the people.... oh well, it’s going to be a very small club.
I chuckled when I read the Old Guard will keep her from getting the nomination. Would that be Romney, Huckabee, and Newt? Grassroots can make the difference in getting a candidate that is energized and can energize supporters. Sarah energized the crowds so much and then McCain would come along and it was UGH! Don’t know how many times I heard people say they were voting for Sarah on the ticket and holding their nose on McCain.
I know Huckabee is already mobilizing for 2012. I guess he is a genuinely deluded man. I would be disappointed if Romney opposed her in any way. I didn’t and don’t believe the trash talk about Romney vs. Palin.
Laura Ingraham had an excellent segment on her show this morning, where she stated the grassroots is restless and eager to go to work for the right Reaganesque candidate. I like Palin/Pence as a ticket.
