It has cleared the center of Oklahoma where I live a short time ago. No classes at OU, schools, and the Governor is asking people to stay off the roads.

Luckily we had a mix of snow and sleet and not freezing rain this afternoon. We have ice under that mix and roads are very slippery. Unlike in Dec 2007, we didn’t have a huge number of power outages and trees/power poles down this time. Last time we had rain before the ice and caused tree limbs to be heavy.

After going through lack of power in Dec 2007, I really feel for these people tonight.

CAntore and others on the Weather Channel web page haven’t reported in since late afternoon...seems to be pretty serious. I don’t have cable or sat any more, so now Wether Channel reports for me currently.
