Is Natural Selection Losing its Appeal?
Jan 28, 2009 Some recent science reports sound like they are ready to cast Darwins key phrase natural selection overboard, or at least demote it from its leading role in evolution. These articles each hint that long-held beliefs are being challenged...

Well, pro'ly but not for the reasons this particular publication thinks.
Once we identify "life" on other worlds which is not dissimilar in any respect from "life" on Earth (at the genetic level), it's not "natural selection", but "what plugs in next" that's the issue.
There are billions of "free genes" out there in viruses and bacteria in the World Ocean that have yet to be tested to see what they do. We'd be much better off checking them out than creating demigods to "force fit" the old stuff into new molds.

Nancy Pelosi and Harry Reid are absolute proof that “Natural Selection” is a crock.

Don’t look now, but they’re altering evolutionary theory.

The fact that government employees sit around all day and watch porn on their computers, chat in forums and waste taxpayers money who pay them to do research, is hardly “anti-science”. Is that your occupation?

It's not my occupation, and you're absolutely correct.
It's perfectly reasonable to consider scientists to be nothing more than government pencil pushers, and any investment in scientific research an absolute waste of money, and shouldn't in any way be considered an "anti-science" attitude.

It’s so much more reasonable to worship scientists as omnipotent, omniscient, omnnipresent Gods that are always objective and never ever subjective, let alone somehow susceptable to money, grants, ideology or politics, particularly when you have so many God-hang-ups of your own.

That’s funny. How do you feel generally about religious leaders, given that a number of them have been caught having sex/taking drugs with prostitutes?
Will you generalize all religious leaders on the basis of the behavior of the few as you have done with scientists?
I didn’t think so.

Christians understand all are sinners, unfortunately the same can’t be said of the kool-aid drinkers who believe science to be objective 100% of the time.
