Thank you, John Boehner and GOP House Republicans, for standing together. Thank you.

Economic Stimulus Bill passes House by vote of 244-188 . The GOP caucus was unanimous in their opposition.

12 Democrats voted against the Stimulus.

Okay.....I'm confused. 244-188.......Who didn't vote at all?

This is great. Let the democrats wear this. Now the house republicans need to start screaming from the mountain tops about the pork and ripoff contained in this bill. Bring it up at every opportunity and even if it isn’t the topic of conversation.

Can the Senate filibuster this? I guess they could since it’s not an omnibus package.

If they tried, the Dems would change the Rule and end filibustering.

Well 11 Democrats understand bipartisanship, then.

I guess with 11 or 12 Dems voting against the bill, the only thing bipartisan was the opposition.

That’s a shocker.

The economy will recover. I’ve got no problem with that. My problem is that the recovery will be credited to this monstrous spending bill, when in fact it served as the dead chicken in the waving ceremony.

Free-lunch theorists will then blame knock-back effects on a failure to accelerate the spending, and/or a tightening of credit policies. The media will carry this fiction, and it will be written in the texts of economic history, ala the charade of FDR.

The Republicans are finally growing spines. Let this disaster fall directly on the Democrats who supported it.

Funny, isn’t it, that as a minority they seem to have more cajones than as the majority?

Pelosi was smiling ear-to-ear. She looked like the undertaker just put the finishing touches on her makeup just before the wake.

We’ll know for sure once the roll is posted on the House website. I seem to recall there were 2 Dems and one GOP who did not vote. My guess that would be Emanuel and Gillibrand. Don’t know who the GOP non-voter is.

Thank you, Republicans, for FINALLY standing against something and for not rolling over and playing dead just to “get along”!

With about 8 RINO senators, all looking to kiss the royal ass, I wouldn’t bet on it.
