White House Unbuttons Formal Dress Code (POTUS AGW HYPOCRITE)

The capital flew into a bit of a tizzy when, on his first full day in the White House, President Obama was photographed in the Oval Office without his suit jacket. There was, however, a logical explanation: Mr. Obama, who hates the cold, had cranked up the thermostat.

“He’s from Hawaii, O.K.?” said Mr. Obama’s senior adviser, David Axelrod, who occupies the small but strategically located office next door to his boss. “He likes it warm. You could grow orchids in there.”

Thus did an ironclad rule of the George W. Bush administration — coat and tie in the Oval Office at all times — fall by the wayside, only the first of many signs that a more informal culture is growing up in the White House under new management. Mr. Obama promised to bring change to Washington and he has — not just in substance, but in presidential style.

Although his presidency is barely a week old, some of Mr. Obama’s work habits are already becoming clear. He shows up at the Oval Office shortly before 9 in the morning, roughly two hours later than his early-to-bed, early-to-rise predecessor. Mr. Obama likes to have his workout — weights and cardio — first thing in the morning, at 6:45. (Mr. Bush slipped away to exercise midday.)

“He’s from Hawaii, O.K.?” said Mr. Obama’s senior adviser, David Axelrod,

Expected a better excuse from Axelrod. Maybe, he's from hell and likes it hot.

Wish I could show up to work around 9:00 AM.

I'm lucky if they're not looking for me at 7:30 AM.

You can't have your thermostat at 72.....

He's from Hawaii has nothing to do with it. He treats the Office like it's a Community Center.

maybe he’s going to learn that we as humans can make their own choices, if they can pay the bills. or in his case, if WE can pay the bills.

Elect me and i’ll ban suits in the White House totally!!!!

I still have the suit I was married in 51 years ago and there is no way i’ll wear it out before I die.

Average wearing in the last 50 years is probably 1/2 times per year.

Reagan was famously nine-to-five.

Obama seems to have more of a DC lawyer schedule (not surprising, really). He starts the day later, but seems to stay later, too. My schedule's similar- never really understood the people who started their work day at 7 in the morning. Seems kind of masochistic.

That said, he's going to need to learn to streamline his meetings. That's a major time sink.

I'm also kind of okay with the more business casual approach, but that's because I probably wear a suit to work 1-2 times a year.

I'm ambivalent on the whole visiting subordinates in their offices. I do that quite a bit, but I'm not sure it's Presidential.

There is a picture of O walking in the snow with is overcoat over his arm. He is not wearing the coat.

The liars are so busy lying they have lost their minds.

Next thing we know he’ll be wearing his backwards baseball hat in the oval office.

Or he’s a snake and snakes need a warm enviornment to survive.

had cranked up the thermostat.

But I'm supposed to keep mine set to 66 degrees, right?

So will the media add up the hours that Obambi is wasting in the morning and compare them to the running total of Bush Vacation days?

Does their leftist Idol still smoke cigarettes? I heard he “quit” but started again. They villianize the rest of America for smoking. Somehow I doubt that he goes out to the north forty every 30 minutes.

We’ve kept our thermostat at 65 all winter to save money, as our utility rates went up.

It’s more important for me to give my money to O to stay warm. /sarcasm

Not to worry, he'll learn his way around after while.

So how long is it before zer0 appears in the oval office wearing this typical Muslim dress?

“He looked around,” said one of his guests, retired Rear Adm. John D. Hutson, “and said, ‘I’ve got to do something about these plates. I’m not really a plates kind of guy.’ ”

Another hard hitting expose on the new President by those much feared investigative journalists at the NY Times.

I dont see how the Obama administration will be able to survive under such relentless pressure, its scandalous behavior being made public like this. I predict calls for impeachment from his fellow Democrats within a month.

/heavy sarcasm
