This is terrible!!!

The party of family values needs to make sure families that were stupid enough to get laid off get kicked out into the streets and that the sacred wall street capitalist that depend on taxpayer socialized bailouts to pay for their well deserved private jet and half million dollar office redecorations are rescued!!!

So, when should I stop making my payments so I can get a better deal?

“families that were stupid enough to get laid off...”

Maybe I’m missing something there.

The cost of this program will be passed on to all those who take out new mortgages. It is bad law and will not help people get new mortgages.
Does the court get to lower the mortgage to an amount less than the house is worth? If they do..then the owner can sell and profit at the expense of the bank.

Did you read the article? Would you lend money to someone to buy a house if you knew a judge to rewrite the terms of the contract such that the money you invested was stolen by writing down the principal owed? Did you notice who is cheering for this? ACORN. The very people who pressed for banks to loan money to unqualified purchasers. The people who caused the mortgage meltdown are now poised to make it worse. This kind of legislation is likely to make mortgages unobtainable. Pay cash or pay rent.

FR really needs an edit capability.

I sure as hell wouldn’t give money to banking institutions to pay for their takeovers.

OK lets see now, I'm a bank and you come to me for a loan on a $300,000 house. Some problems, you don't have a down payment, you don't really qualify to buy this house because you don't make enough money to pay the mortgage, taxes, utilities and food. I know if I give you the mortgage I will have a judge behind door #2 ready to lower your principle, and your interest rate and I get to eat the loan difference. Do these Dumbocraps really think banks are that stupid to provide such loans that are sure losers? Amen.

Can someone please tell me why I have spent the last 45 years (I am 65) working, paying my bills and taxes on time, buying a house that I could afford and never been late for payment? Why have I done this when others show no responsibility and get rewarded with my money. Now I learn it is great to be a screw off.

I believe the act was to apply only to existing loans but we all know how temporary these kinds of laws are, don’t we? It will throw the right of contract out the window and destabilize the housing market, which will require more government intervention to force those nasty, greedy banks to continue loaning money to those who can’t afford to pay them. The lending institututions will be pilloried for greed but it is actually the greed of those who can’t afford the toys and bling they want that is causing the problem.

From a practical standpoint, paying the solvent banks to buy the insolvent banks just might be the cheapest of all possible solutions.

Because the Democratic Party is the party of fantasy, not realism.

—It believes you can reward bad behavior and not get more of it, and punish good behavior and not get less of it.

—It believes that a fetus magically turns into a baby then it takes a breath outside the womb of a welcoming mother.

—It believes that people cause and can stop global warming.

—It believes that a couple who cannot biologically have a child together because they are the same sex will nevertheless make perfect parents for someone else’s child.

—It believes that taking money from taxpayers and investors has no effect on whatever else those taxpayers or investors intended to spend the money on.

—It believes there is no biological, emotional, psychological, physiological difference between men and women.

—It believes children are benefitted by early sexual education.

—It believes it can increase both taxes and tax dependents to infinity.

—It believes all those failure at socialism were simply because the right people weren’t in charge of the programs.

—It believes it can push religion into a closet, let the gays out of the closet and still maintain a society based on Judeo-Christian principles.

—It believes the Constitution is a malleable document intended to bend to the superior wisdom of this generation of leaders.

Rant off!
