Obama brings relaxed style to presidency (Oval office dress code)

President Barack Obama has brought a more relaxed style to the White House, according to Sheryl Gay Stolberg of the New York Times, among other things going suit coat-less in the Oval Office and allowing others to do the same.
Obama critics will probably hold this against him and mark him down as disrespecting the presidency.
But the Oval Office is an office after all, even if it is the world's most famous one. At bottom, it is a work space albeit it holds an almost sacred place in the hearts of many Americans.
Most Americans probably won't begrudge Obama the comfort of being able to doff his suit coat in the Oval. They've got bigger worries these days.
Indeed, they'll likely accept the image of him in his shirtsleeves as evidence of an executive working hard to solve the nation's problems.
One of the story's most memorable anecdotes is actually not about Obama but former President George Bush and it was told by Dan Bartlet who was a senior adviser to Obama's predecessor.

Another example of the disrespect he has. I'm sure baggy pants will be allowed as well. Probably someone has to flash a gang sign to get in as well.

Why doesn’t he just wear Bermuda shorts and have the women wear bikinis? Come on Obambi, relax bud. Take a load off. Off what I don’t know, because he sure doesn’t have a mind.
Imagine the damage Carter would have done to the Presidency by wearing shorts. Gag...

Rapper 'Ludacris'
Lyrics to Ludacris' Obama rap song, "Obama Is Here":
"Hey... I'm back on it
like I just signed my record deal, yeah the best is here
The Bentley Coupe paint is drippin wet, it got sex appeal
Never shoulda hated, you never shoulda doubted him
With a slot in the President's iPod, Obama shouted him
Said I handled my biz and I'm one of his favorite rappers
Well give Luda a special pardon if I'm ever in the slammer
Better yet put me in office, make me a Vice President
Hillary hated on you so that bitch is irrelevant
Now Jesse talkin slick and apologizin for WHAT~?!
If you said it then you MEANT it how you want it, head or gut
And all you other politicians tryin to hate on my man
Watch us win majority vote in every STATE on my man
You cain't stop what's 'bout to happen, we 'bout to make history
The first black President it's destined and it's meant to be
The threats ain't fazin us, the nooses or the jokes
Get off your ass black people it's time to get out and vote
Paint the White House black and I'm sure that's got 'em terrified
McCain don't belong in ANY chair unless he's paralyzed
Yeah I said it cause Bush is mentally handicapped
Ball up all of his speeches and just throw 'em like candy wraps
Cause what you talkin I hear nothin even relevant
And you the worst of all 43 Presidents
Get out and vote, or the end'll be near
And the world is ready for change cause Obama is here
YEAHHH! Cause Obama is here
The world is ready for change cause Obama is here
Yeahhhh, cause Obama is here
Say world is ready for change cause Obama is here
Hey!

And in my office, we are required to wear suits...the men manage to keep their jackets on. I've yet to hear one of my mail co-workers say he was "at the office" so he can dress down.
Besides, I thought it was cold enough at the White House for 0 to raise the temperature...why not just keep his jacket on and not raise the temperature.
He is a disrespectful fool.

If I’m not mistaken, wasn’t Clinton similar in his relaxed approach. I think I read that people were taken aback when Bush got in and demanded everyone dress appropriately and be at meetings punctually. I don’t see it as much as a disrespect for the office as much as I see it as a reflection of the man. Half Assed.

If "dress" doesn't matter, then he should have no problem with press photographers catching him in his daily work attire or making an address to the nation in less than a suit and tie.

Folks don’t realize that the President, or BHO’s “Precedent” status, actually has an office just off the oval office. The oval office is ceremonial for official acts and visits etc . All the real work and meetings with “staff” are supposed to be accomplished in that working office.
Obamainista trash may as well duct tape a basketball hoop on the wall using the presidential seal as a backboard. He and his handlers are all about disrespect for the office...... were I told I was President of the US tomorrow I couldn’t steam clean and remodel that place enough to get the stench of sedition and disrespect out of it....
Just my opinion....
