And when the schools in DC closed he said something about getting some of the Chicago “toughness” down there. He is such a hypocrite.

President Barack Obama has brought a more relaxed shiftless and lazy style to the White House,...

mirroring the minimalist approach to work he displayed in the Illinois legislature and U.S. Senate, where he often showed up for work late and had to apologize on many occasions for missing important testimony and voting opportunities on.

They never do stories critical of his policies.

He wore his cap backwards when he was in Hawaii.

It was disgraceful.

The author of the article says “Maybe there’s just something about Democrats that allows them to be less formal in how they incorporate their personal style into the presidency.”

Yeah. Let’s not forget that at the beginning of the Clinton presidency the Executive Branch had to resort to circulating a memo telling female staffers to wear panties with their dresses and skirts.

Now THAT’S a little less formal.

Like Obama’s “fashion statement” is the worst thing about him?

I may not be able to live with the rest of what he does, but when it comes to clothing, I’ll be happy if Obama keeps his pants zipped and doesn’t don “kneepads” in the Oval Office, ala Bill Clinton!

Well now don't forget Clinton who took it to as low as it could get. Have you forgotten Clinton wearing his jogging outfit and blue jeans to the Oval Office? I can understand the coat thing let's just not go down too far like wearing Bermuda shorts with knee highs.

Not true Reagan always wore a coat but sometimes had on a turtleneck shirt.

That is just the dumbest fashion statement ever.

Who cares what he wears in the office. It’s his office. He can wear shorts if he wants. I don’t care. If I were Prez I would put in a 8-core, liquid cooled gaming machine with 2 30-inch monitors and rock it out with Gears of War before every cabinet meeting.

So what if they brought it up, we don’t have to acknowledge it. We certainly are wasting a great deal of thought and FR bandwidth discussing something so trivial. There is so much mental firepower here on FR that should be keenly focused on ousting/undermining zero that it shouldn’t be wasted on trivia like his office dressing habits.

Lack of good upbringing, you gotta be kidding me with this. Sitting at a desk in an office working on paperwork or on a computer with a jacket on, makes no sense unless your cold. And don’t even get me started about those stupid neckties..

How about total hypocrisy? Is that 'nontrivial' enough for you?

May 18, 2008 obama said, "We can't drive our SUVs and eat as much as we want and keep our homes on 72 degrees at all times ... and then just expect that other countries are going to say OK,"

Hypocritical obama not only ignores what he tells the rest of us to do, he expects us, the taxpayer to pay his heating bill...when questioned about why it was warm enough in the White House for obama to rule from his desk sans jacket...here's your answer...

http://story.theusnews.com/index.php/ct/9/cid/154063713fe5da1f/id/459968/cs/1/

Jan.29 : Compared to President Bush, his successor Barack Obama has a style of his own, one that is relaxed and warm, and not at all stiff. "He's from Hawaii, O.K.?" said Obama's senior adviser, David Axelrod, adding: "He likes it warm. You could grow orchids in there."

I agree. Look at those on here foaming at the mouth about what he wears. Did any of these people complaining about his dress code not watch him over two years of campaigning? It’s the same way he dressed then as he’s dressing now. It’s not about how he dresses, it’s about what he does. And that should be the focus. But many on here are acting like those idiot female and gay fashionistas that critique what a person wears.

now that’s pathetic.
