Since, as you say, you are not a Republican, your opinion is irrelevant to the direction of our party. Please go and mind your own business and stop butting in.

Where are the results of the state chair positions and the voting record of the state chairs as well as the committeeman and woman?

The voting was by secret ballot.

How ‘bout C) A man who can easily be pushed into a corner where he compromising his principles because he’s afraid that to do otherwise will mean political loss?

Dear Norman Bates,

I think that if Mr. Steele fails to repudiate his former remarks, brightly, clearly, directly, it is his supporters who will be damaging the cause of life.

I just can't wait (barf) to see the commercials by the Party of Satan saying, “Democratic Rep. So-and-So really IS pro-life, even if he accepts that Roe should stand. After all, that's the position of the CHAIRMAN OF THE REPUBLICAN PARTY!”

There are about a million variations on that theme.

I see this all around me in Maryland, where my Party of Satan friends tell me that they really are pro-life even if they vote for the POS filth, that one doesn't have to hold that Roe should go to be pro-life.

Letting Mr. Steele be chairman of the party WITHOUT requiring him to repudiate his former remarks cripples the pro-life movement.

Dear Norman Bates,

In that I view it as a 50-50 proposition that he would actually say that Roe should stand, I wouldn't bet you anything. I don't bet money if my part of the bet isn't heavily favored.

But I might bet you a few bucks that as party chairman, he will never repudiate directly his statement that Roe should stand. I'm kinda doubtful on that one.

And that means that his former remarks remain. And people will quote him on that when trying to persuade us that the likes of Bob Casey, Jr. are pro-life.

Remember where you're at, old friend. This is Free Republic, not a Republican Party meeting.

Free Republic is the premier online gathering place for independent, grass-roots conservatism on the web.

It will be nice to donate monthly again and tell them it is because Michael Steele is the new RNC chair! I had enough to say when I quit because of the Chair and their lack of doing much of anything to help candidates.

RNC Voter Vault has to be about the biggest joke around. It is so out of date it is almost impossible to use.

Sorry, Norman. I followed you down the rabbit hole on the jackass McCain. In large part because of you, I supported the moron. Gave him hundreds of dollars.

He turned out to be a(n) (unwitting? witting?) tool of the anti-Christ Obama.

I won't be fooled again.

*******************

Dear sitetest,

I did the same, except that I had already donated all I could to Fred Thompson, so I was spared the possibility of donating to McCain's campaign. I do regret and will not vote for or support any "moderate" such as McCain in any capacity, again.

With kind regards,

trisham

I’m amazed at how many still don’t realize that Fred Thompson was a stalking horse candidate for his very close friend, and ideological twin, John McCain.

They were ultimately really, really in-your-face about it. When McCain finally won the nomination, all that was left up on the Thompson website was the word “success.”

The question is can Steele put some steel in the GOP backbone or will the party steal away and hide.

Is it me or what. Why is it a Black Man when it’s a GOP versus an African American when a liberal?

WASHINGTON - The Republican Party chose the first black national chairman in its history yesterday, just shy of three months after the nation elected a Democrat as the first African-American president.

The choice marked no less than “the dawn of a new party,” declared the new GOP chairman, former Maryland Lt. Gov. Michael Steele.

Secrety ballot? You’ve got to be kidding me? Secret ballot in this day and age? What’s the purpose of putting these people in position when their voting record is sworn to secrecy...
