Springsteen regrets record deal

Rock star Bruce Springsteen has said it was a "mistake" to exclusively release an album with US retail giant Wal-Mart.

The musician told the New York Times: "Our batting average is usually very good, but we missed that one."

Some fans complained about the deal, saying claims made against Wal-Mart's labour practices conflicted with Springsteen's principles on the issue.

He is due to perform during the interval at Sunday's Super Bowl in Tampa, Florida.

'Done different'

"We were in the middle of doing a lot of things, it kind of came down and, really, we didn't vet it the way we usually do," said the musician.

"It was something that if we'd thought about it a little longer, we'd have done something different.

"Fans will call you on that stuff, as it should be," added Springsteen.

Read this article from City Journal: America's Most Successful Communist.

You'll rethink everything Springsteen, Dylan, and numerous other American "Idols."

So the American way is to demand that crappy products only be made in America? So the Patriotic thing is for American Consumers to pay 25% more for stuff of the same crappy quality but made in America.

When people bought American it was because our products were the gold standard of Quality. Now we have companies like GM that instead of modeling Toyota’s quality have decided to not change how they do business or make there product but demand that Uncle Sam bails them out.

Translation: Like all liberals Springsteen feels the money talking.

Get paid first, then bash Wal-Mart.

Freaking hypocrite.

His girl friend lived in our sub division and the kids always got a kick out of seeing him drive by..I Lived in Sterling Heights Mi

Don’t worry Bruce, I didn’t think any worse of you for it. Actually, I couldn’t so that wasn’t difficult.

Ah, but he once 'walked with kings' and now is forever becalmed in the shallows and still water. Like Greenspan, Arthur Miller, Jimmy Carter,et al. he has been cursed to outlive his glory days..

The pastor at church today encouraged everyone to watch the Springsteen show at superbowl. On the way out, I asked him if he thought the Boss would sing any of his songs about adultery. He did not see my point, so I told him that Bruce is a wretch. (I may be making too much of this, but I don’t think so.)

Why did the pastor encourage people to watch Springsteen?

So Springsteen's principles on “labor” causes him to believe it was a mistake to strike a deal which would help Wal-Mart workers keep their jobs from the increased sales?

Typical liberal hypocrite.

brucie, at the height of his career, fired his band employees (e-street band) leaving them jobless or with small gigs while he made millions more by not sharing with his employees.

brucie became "the man" focused on making money and not sharing with his employees that helped him achieve power and riches. What would stalin say?

Anyone who shops at Walmart must hate the U.S. If you shop there, your dollars are helping to maintain and encourage inhumane working conditions in mainland China. If you’re a true American, you will find another place to shop and not support a company that is the largest importer of Chinese goods in the world. If you want to support the communists, just send a check to Beijing.

From this link....

Puppy Bowl Becomes Adorable Super Bowl Competition

...With the kitties being significantly younger than the recent Super Bowl halftime entertainment, and more active, Animal Planet was onto something. The Bissell Kitty Half-Time Show is now a permanent part of the Puppy Bowl.

Meow!

Heh heh heh....

I do not understand how this could be a “mistake” or how they “missed that one.” It is not as if Wal-Mart is unknown. It is not as if Wal-Mart’s “labor practices” were unknown at the time he signed the agreement.

Walmart should claim he breached the contract by bad-mouthing them, then dump his CDs on a truck and return them, never to be restocked.

“Why did the pastor encourage people to watch Springsteen?”

Cause he think rock’n’roll is harmless fun? ... cause he is cool and wants people to like him? ... cause he’s “living in the flesh”? ... I can’t explain it.

Was he undermining parental authority? If I was the only one who found it offensive ... what does that say about middle America? Maybe the Boss is not as decadent as I think he is.

(I was out of town and go to this church a few times per year. Not where I usually attend.)
