Gone, are the days when a POW could signal his superiors by winking in Morse Code. FReeperland would be on that so quickly, the guy would be dead by the next news cycle. Kind of a shame.

Also still missing as far as I know is David Rohde.

This will hopefully not turn into a tragedy.

May someone you know and are close to gets kidnapped.

Then we’ll see your bluster and call you.

Schmuckian would be the proper description, methinks.

Lighten up Francis!

Can you name one UN official that matters?

We'd be better off without ANY of them.

Taliban Take Second American Hostage
The name of the first American being held by the Taliban? I’ve been asked by my moral and intellectual superiors in the MSM not to mention his name nor to claim that the Taliban have taken him hostage. He is, after all, a reporter who works for a major U.S. newspaper. Never mind that the be silent and wait it out strategy only works when you are negotiating a ransom. In the case of Islamist extremists who have become hip to the new realities of the decreasing propaganda value of taking American hostages, then it’s a silly dead end.

When he’s released we’ll know exactly why. And if he’s murdered? Oh, I will name names.

Enough of that. On to the unpleasant news that the Pakistani branch of the Taliban have taken a hostage. His name is John Solecki, and he was in Quetta helping Afghani refugees.

Do I know any Taliban propagandist who live in Quetta? Why yes, I do. Drop me a line “Murchal” so I can get your side of the story. Maybe you have something to add to, “have American hostage, will behead if Crusaders don’t leave”?

May a Predator missile find your house, you lousy piece of shit.

Keep John Solecki and his family in your prayers. And the other guy.

If you’re a member of the other guy’s family, drop me a line. I’m respecting the MSM request out of respect for you as it was conveyed to me. But if the silent treatment isn’t what you want, I’m right there with you on that, too.

Anyone with the UN is hardly a "fellow countryman".

Besides keeping us from winning, what were they doing over there in the first place?

Now that they have a chance to sit down and talk with the enemy, maybe we'll finally have peace.

Do you suppose the Obama administration is up to a "Perdicaris alive or Raisuli dead" message?

Americans everywhere should be concerned with how their government handles this.

‘She wanted to learn about Jihad’ (Taliban threaten to behead pro-Islamic Canadian hostage)
timesnow.tv ^ | March 19, 2009
Posted on March 20, 2009 4:33:44 PM PDT by Free ThinkerNY

After the United Nations diplomat John Solecki, who had forcefully converted to Islam under the doctrine of the Taliban militants, a Canadian journalist - Beverly Giesbrecht, became the latest Taliban target, with the deadline of March 30 being announced by the militants for her release.

Even as the 48-hour deadline for kidnapped United Nations official John Solecki ends, the Taliban has released another hostage video, this time of a Canadian journalist, threatening to behead her by March 30.

As Beverly desperately calls out for help, she says, “The timeline is very short and my life is going to end. So I need someone to help me. My country or someone else have to make a move now, as my life is going to be over very shortly.”

The irony is Beverly - now Khadija Adbul Qahaar - publisher of a pro-Islamic website ‘Jihad Unspun’, was in Pakistan to understand the concept of ‘Jihad’, when the Taliban kidnapped her in North Wazirstan.

“A previous video has been made and distributed to my Embassy, to the Pakistan government and to the various NGOs and groups, in order to try to meet the demnads that they’re (the Taliban terror outfits) are making but....,” trails off Beverly.

A cash strapped Taliban, at first demanded USD 2 millions, and have now settled for USD 3 hundred and 75 thousand ransom.

As the deadline for the execution of kidnapped United Nations man John Solecki lapsed, the timing of Beverly’s hostage video release, served as grim reminder for foreigners in Pakistan that they have become the Taliban terror groups’ most negotiable currecy in their holy war.
