WASHINGTON Barack Obama promised a "clean break from business as usual" in Washington. It hasn't quite worked out that way.
From the start, he made exceptions to his no-lobbyist rule. And now, embarrassing details about Cabinet-nominee Tom Daschle's tax problems and big paychecks from special interest groups are raising new questions about the reach and sweep of the new president's promised reforms.
Maybe he shouldn't have promised so much, some open-government advocates say. They're willing to cut him some slack for now

PolitiFact, who are tracking O’s campaign promises, actually had the cohonies to report the breaking of his “No Lobbyists in his administration” promise as a “compromise”.
And I will, from now on, refer to his cabinet and the Tax Evader Cabinet and the Democrat party as the Party of the Tax Evaders. I also heard that the reason 0bama resigned his Senate seat so quickly is because there was a Senate Ethics probe into 0bama’s ties to Rezko. As soon as 0bama resigned his seat the probe went away. The Democrats have ushered in the worst Culture of Corruption ever!
Also, I encourage everyone to go to http://www.whitehouse.gov/five_day_review/ and leave a comment asking why the Ledbetter bill wasn't posted there and held for 5 days for the public to comment about that bill before it was signed.
Obama's campaign promise hasn't disappeared down the memory hole yet. You can still see it at http://www.barackobama.com/issues/ethics/. Here's the part he hasn't lived up to this time:
Sunlight Before Signing: Too often bills are rushed through Congress and to the president before the public has the opportunity to review them. As president, Obama will not sign any non-emergency bill without giving the American public an opportunity to review and comment on the White House website for five days.
Peppered with questions today about Daschle's acknowledgment that he failed to pay more than $120,000 in taxes between 2005 and 2007, White House spokesman Robert Gibbs argued that the problem does not come close to disqualifying the former Senator from serving as Secretary of Health and Human Services.
"Nobody's perfect, said Gibbs.
Must not have searched properly. ...dang it.
I read the article you linked. The author, Mark Knoler, is likely to become a “former White House correspondent”, if he keeps issuing news reports like this one.
How DARE Mr. Knoler report the truth....? Off with his head!
17.
In less than two weeks Obama has placed 17 Lobbyists!
The Aristocrats are out of hand. It is time for a purge. These folks will be well served to remember for whom they work.
