They ended up at a Washington public school, greeted by children who could not care less about the collapse of a Cabinet secretary nomination.

"We were just tired of being in the White House," the president candidly told the gleeful second-graders at Capital City Public Charter School.

"We got out! They let us out!" Mrs. Obama said as the kids and their teachers laughed.

The White House said the Obamas' trip had been planned, just not publicly announced.

"We were just tired of being in the White House,"

I see he's already practicing his comments for 12:01PM EST January 20, 2013.

"We were just tired of being in the White House,"

I share the sentiment. I'm also tired of you being in the WH.

For my money (what’s left of it), the Obamas can leave the White House permanently any time they want.

Wow...only 1,380 days to go. Hey Obama, why don’t you make the world a better place and just “quit”!

An empty suit....what a waste!

Two weeks since the coronation, and he can’t handle it already.

Hey Messiah, what are you going to do when Iran attacks Israel or Al Qaeda strikes the U.S. again?

Well, I’m waiting.........

[sound of crickets...]

Not much of a pain threshold, I’d say.

This is an Achilles heel.

This is voting “present.”

This is a coward.

Suck it up, spinless.

This photo-op may well be the lead item on tonight's newspaper.

Gotta hand it to zero, he knows how to play his worshipers in the media.

Even though the media isn’t reporting it to the people, this is the biggest catastrophe of a first two weeks I have seen in my lifetime. Usually Presidents manage the opening weeks of a new adminsitration according to a tight script. Not this time.

His signature bill got repositioned as a partisan spending spree, every worldwide bad guy is giving him a long distance wedgie, and his cabinet is a punchline.

He is truly a lightweight, way over his head, soon he will admit not being a legal resident of the USA.

I remember him complaining about the rigors of campaigning...having to eat on the road...sleeping in hotels.

Well...he has a damn nice house, a nanny for the kids, a chef, a limo driver....So the problem is what??...
