Obama Makes Surprise Trip to Read to Children

Updated 3:44 p.m.
By Michael D. Shear and Hamil Harris
As a sense of crisis engulfed his White House Tuesday with the withdrawal of former senator Tom Daschle as HHS Secretary-nominee, President Obama made an unannounced trip to a school to read to kids.

His motorcade was seen heading north on 15th Street, and local sources soon reported he was at The Capital City Public Charter School. There was no mention of a trip on the schedule sent out to reporters the previous day.

At the school, the president and Michelle Obama read to a group of second-graders in the school library from a picture book entitled "The Moon over Star," an account of the first moon landing in July of 1969. An Associated Press report from the scene said that Obama told the students, "We were just tired of being in the White House."

One of the comments:

From the official site:

"The school is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization "

Geez, why not goto a real public school in DC. Unless there was a favor to be fulfilled?

Charter schools are really private schools underneath it all.

What we need now are dedicated journalists to start covering the journalists who have sex with Obama every time they gushingly report anything about him.

Interesting you should say that.

In Ann Coulter's new book, Guilty: Liberal "Victims" and Their Assault on America, speaking of Present Obama, she says that the media “literally wanted to have sex with him.”

There is one fool-proof way of determining the potential success or failure of a respective student/job candidate, and that is affirmative action. Those who are bumped ahead, or are otherwise promoted over others who more qualified, simply for political expediency almost always fail.

And it usually doesn't have to do with core intelligence (although there are minimum ranges). As the saying goes, the hard part is getting into an Ivy League college; once you're there, the curve is pretty forgiving.

So what it really boils down to is personality eg discipline, determination, etc. Like that old Seinfeld episode where Elaine is advised that 'one must be born with grace, it can't be acquired', Obama never was, is not, and never will be the type of guy who can buckle down and get focused. It's not him, and he is going to crack, sooner than later, under the pressures of the job.

This is a non-brainer but needs to be asked anyways, but I wonder who is on the receiving end of that transaction?

George Washington reincarnated would be more fit to serve in the White House, even in today’s times.

George Washington propped up and stuffed would be more fit to serve in the White House that this bad joke.

What an immature brat! Can you imagine being a student there and having to hear the President say he’s tired of being in the White House??? Really inspiring confidence there, Zero!

OObama is just a empty suit. His commie buddies are working hard behind the scenes while OObama woo’s the gaggles of fawning worshipers.

That is the commies plan for the disassembly of America.

I find this interesting - can you elaborate? Why would he need to bug out? And what excuses might he give?

I’m aware that as a senator, he basically worked part time (well, he did have to expend energy to push the “present” button, and maybe it was tiring to never hold any of his subcommitte hearings - you know, always hanging over your head, never getting it done, poor BO).

I don’t believe he has ever held a real full time job, let alone one that was very demanding. I’ve wondered if he can handle the constant stress and demands. I think he took as many vacations as Bush, but just in the space of 1.5 years of primaries. I don’t know if he can take the work.

Another option I’ve thought of, is enough states pass rules that would now require verification of eligibility, with no grandfather clauses, he wouldn’t be able to run in 4 years. If he made it that long, that might be the point where he gets some mysterious illness that still allows him to play Bball, or maybe he would realize he needs more time with his family!

Is this what you were thinking, or do you have other interesting ideas?

Wasn’t Bush castigated for reading to children when 9/11 happened?

OObama suddenly discovered that he actually has to WORK for a living. But he has an army of commies behind the scenes working on the doom and gloom machine. So he can roam around wooing the fawning worshipers of the Odynasty.

Obama hasn’t held a real job before. So this experience must be overwhelming.

I just can’t imagine this joker dealing with something like “9-11”. God help our country.

“Any MAN with a strong sense of right and wrong could easily lead the country “

Did you mean any MAN, or did you mean any STRONG, FOCUSED PERSON WITH VALUES could do it?

Pray hard for divine intervention for when 0Bama quits so that the country is not left leaderless and that God will have the perfect person ready for the job.

I don't know if I would pray for such a thing. Obama's got a pretty deep bench. A deep bench of lunatics, that is.

The line of succession:
1) Joe "Stand Up Chuck!" Biden
2) Nancy "Aunt Claire" Pelosi
3) Robert "Sheets" Byrd
4) Hillary "Rob'em" Clinton

Jeez, now that I look at that list, do you realize how EASY it would be for Hillary to assume power?

“As I read this article and how he cannot take any real pressure and his sudden escape for a quick breather”

I agree with this, but I thought of something else - this pressure he is feeling right now is from not getting his way. All of his previous elections were made easy for him, he’s been helped all along, and once in office, he works when he wants, votes ‘present’, and thinks about the next election. He has to stay planted now, and he’s not going to have such a string of easy wins. I don’t think he can handle not getting his way.

I’ll never forget that when Hillary was beating him, he gave her the finger - I couldn’t believe it, a middle aged man giving someone the finger - so incredibly immature. And liking to act like some 20-something thug wanna be with the rap and the hat backwards and the incessant bball playing - I think emotionally he isn’t mature. I think we’ll see more of these events, as he finds out his fairy godmothers only got him to the dance, they’re not sticking around, and now he’s on his own.

Sheets and Biden would be easy. She’ll probably have to mud-wrestle Pelosi.
