Obama to present multilateral credentials in Munich

President Barack Obama will send his Vice President Joseph Biden and a top-level delegation to the Munich Security Conference this weekend to hear what US allies have to say before his new foreign policies go into effect.

Biden's speech at the conference Saturday was billed by an Obama official who requested anonimity as "the first major foreign policy of this White House."

While Obama focuses on the economic crisis back home, Biden in Europe "will outline the sort of vision of foreign policy and national security policy that this administration brings to the world stage now that it's in power," the official added.

It will stress Obama's multilateral approach, he added, barely concealing the intent to make a clean break with the troubled years of the George W. Bush administration, from the strained relations over the Iraq war to tensions with Russia.

Obama, said the official, wants to put out this message: the relationship with Europe "is still a top tier issue for this administration."

I don't think you can look at Europe without integrating Russia.

I think it's more a case of Russia intending to integrate Europe. But hey, what could possibly go wrong?

I will never forget that shortly adter 9/11 almost all of my liberal friends (not too wacky) said “Thank God Al Gore wasn't in office because he wouldn't do crap.” Needless to say their opinion changed over time but that was because they had the luxury of saying “Bush is pissing off the world” but never making a correlation of the fact that as pissed off as the socialist, totalitarian, and communist world was they respected Bush's word that he would indeed use the military if necessary, not just for police actions.

I truly believe that some of the very same liberals are going to break free from the Obama/Dem gauze over their eyes and see the light - Obama can try to be nice but inevitably this is seen as go time for revenge. Then again I think Obama wants to win accolades as a crisis manager and yet has been invisible regarding the power outages in Kentucky and Tennessee

You naysayers are all wrong.

I'm confident Obambi will come away from Munich with a gold-plated Munich Agreement guaranteeing "Peace In Our Time".
