I'd think many would be dissuaded from participating—given the law.

Are not such "laws" what the march would be about?

We wouldn't be asking for a handout, we'd be exercising and demanding our rights as guaranteed by the Constitution of the United States.

. A state march would be the first step

While I agree. Been there, done that. It didn't impress Billy Jeff and the CongressCritters a bit. Some of the folks even came armed to the later rallies. With cap and ball revolvers. Although there were guns at the earlier rally too, carried by folks in "period" costume, from Revolutionary War to WW-II. We even had cannon:

I think I'm in that picture, with my fingers in my ears.

This new joke of an AG will take advantage of any DC march. He’ll force IDing of all and seize the opportunity to track and confiscate.

Very dangerous idea in the current socialist climate

So, if we do nothing, he wins, if we do something, he might win faster, or there might be some "unintended consequences" and he'd and his ilk would lose big time.

I’ve never seen anything about Obama wanting to confiscate personal firearms. Is this true?

Tell us you're joking ?

I'm in favor of the march. My wife and I will be there if at all possible.

I'm against going armed this time. We're trying to influence opinion, not start a war.

I do like the idea of carrying canes or umbrellas as "symbolic" guns. I'll probably need a cane anyway.

I'm for concurrent rallies in state capitals for those who can't make it to DC. We need to influence state legislators as well as congresscritters.

Let's shoot for a realistic number. If it's not in freezing weather, we ought to be able to match the turnout of the Right to Life march, about a quarter million. However, we shouldn't put a number in the name. It's a Second Amendment rally, or something like that.

2009 would be better than 2010, but I don't know anything about the process of getting approval from the Park Service, etc. That's probably going to be the primary consideration.

2010 is too late — the march needs to happen by summer 2009. All marchers should have a rifle on their shoulder, bolt open and magazine in their pocket.

I agree. Showing up for a million (or whatever) man march on washington consisting of gunowners (read enemies of the administration)might be looked upon as a godsend by the administration. Sprinkle in a few plants ready to jump up with full auto to fire on the police, and it will be a dream come true for gungrabbing pols.

Personally, if there is going to be a second Lexington and Concord, I would not want to be on the bridge without arms.

Somebody had a list of all those ‘old’ Marines who defended themselves....and won. Do you remember who has that list?

A barrel of tar and one of feathers and 3 rails with an effigy on each tarred, feathered and labeled “NFA 34” and “GCA 68” and “Brady Bill.”

How about an effigy of all the anti-gun ‘Rats in Washington and we’ll hold target practice at them.

Works for me. Maybe we could get the use of a range over at Quantico or some such place.

I could work with that. Maybe we could borrow some firepower from the Marines. Ma Deuce or a Blooper would be fun.
