HERZLIYA -- Israel has a year or so in which to attack Iran's nuclear facilities preemptively, an Israeli legislator and weapons expert said on Wednesday.
Israeli forces could pull off successful strikes independently, Isaac Ben-Israel said, though these would only delay, rather than end, Iran's progress towards atomic weaponry.
Echoing government assessments that Iran is about a year away from making enough enriched uranium for a bomb, Ben-Israel, a member of parliament's Foreign Affairs and Defence Committee, said the window for last-ditch military action was closing.
"Last resort means when you reach the stage when everything else failed. When is this?" Ben-Israel, who is also a retired general and former senior defence official, told an Israeli security conference in Herzliya. "Maybe a year, give or take."

....fear not! George Mitchell is on his way.
Do it now....
Militant
Hard to blame him though....Osama Bin Laden still being alive, and a nuclear Iran are part of Bush's legacy.
Look for it. Listening to NPR this morning was beyond the pale. They spoke in nauseating glowing terms about the Iranian former president's morning prayer at the mosque which mixes religion and politics and then had some analysis right out of the appeasement playbook. Bottom line is Iran will talk in good faith and make concessions on its nuclear program if America "changes". It was frightening to listen to...
B-B-B-Benny and the Jets.
The Israeli’s don’t have the capability to hit Iran hard enough to matter, nor do they have the logistical support to get their planes there and back again safely from what I can tell.
They won’t get permission to enter Iraqi airspace.
That leaves the rumored Jericho Missiles as the only option, and I don’t see them firing off a barrage of them towards Iran, conventional, let alone nuclear tipped.
JMO.
Delay rather than end...
Depnds how much firepower you drop on Tehran
The post 9/11 osama hunt and GWII belong to bush.
No excuses.
The situation reminds me, once again, of my favorite Bloom County strip of all time. The group is at the swimming hole and Opus is on the diving board, looking down, when he yells, “Snake!” One by one the others join him on the board, each with a different suggestion. In the last frame the board has broken from all the weight, and hesitation, and all you see is the stub of the broken board! Classic. Much funnier in person.
Turns out it wasn’t a snake at all, the battery cable from a Pinto.
They keep talking about it and putting it off until it will be their only path. It’s never wise to put something off until you have only one shot left.
Screwed the pooch. As this article suggests, Israel can’t do the whole job by itself, and Obama is now on the other side, so the U.S. sure won’t help.
When Sharon founded Kadima, Israel took a wrong fork. Even if Kadima and Labour lose this election, it’s hard to see how they can pull it out now.
Bush was very good in the WOT, then he seemed to lose his direction, or maybe got stalled by the political resistance. He should have dealt with Syria and Iran before he lost congress and it became impossible. Syria certainly, and Iran if possible.
Now it’s Obama time—Communist, appeaser, and probably Muslim to boot.
My approach would be to forget about the nukes and annihilate every existing regime target while simultaneously providing every dissident group in Iran with weapons.
It's just an estimate. It might only be eight months. Or, less likely but still possible, one month. Israel had better act soon.
Do you mean this scenario ?

Wouldn’t it be funny if it was the Democrats that eventually did the bombing.
