Legislators tell feds to back off
WorldNetDaily ^ | February 05, 2009 | Bob Unruh

Lawmakers in New Hampshire are telling the federal government to back off because plans for a federal handgun license, "hate crimes" laws to regulate Christians' speech about their own religious beliefs on homosexuality, President Obama's youth corps for mandatory public service and the so-called "Fairness Doctrine" to "balance" talk radio are none of them constitutional.

Such plans by the bureaucrats and administrators in Washington, D.C., are "altogether void" and if mandated, "shall constitute a nullification of the Constitution for the United States," the lawmakers are warning.

(Answering my own question)
No, it has merely been “introduced for debate,” i.e., it’s meaningless at this point.

Something is going on. This was posted here last night. It isn’t making the news here in Arizona though.

Boy! That sure will make the National Legislature stop and think. Not to mention the Big 0 himself.

I wonder if NH pulls this off if other states can join. The muslim usurper is going to pardon the mastermind bomber of the USS Cole.

The "Million Armed-Man March" on Washington next spring will be far more effective than this resolution.

Still, we'll take all action in this general direction.

This bill will go about as far in the NH house as one of Ron Paul’s bills to abolish the Fed will go in the US House.

They'll probably cave when zer0 threatens to cut off highway, school, and unemployment funds. I hope they won't, but they probably will. I know my state would. Tim Kaine has his knee pads wore out already.

Close, but the charges have been withdrawn.

It looks like Present Obama whispered in someone's ear so he could avoid responsibility.

He probably didn't want to get a tongue lashing from the relatives of those killed on the USS Cole.

There are several states that are considering this.

We have I believe about 5 right now. I wish people would get behind their states instead of saying this won’t work; hasn’t got a chance and blah blah blah.

Of course, it won’t work if you go in believing it won’t work.

Well, I hope so.

If we get the NRA and RKBA to sponsor...and put it in their mailings and magazines, it will be a sure thing.

All members should begin to lobby now for that sponsorship.

Imagin, a million or more marching on Washington DC, carrying UNLOADED rifles...carrying signs that say "Don't make us come back, we'll come back loaded".

Contrary to popular belief, carrying a rifle in DC, even for non-residents, is legal as long as you weapon is legal and you are on your way to a legal shooting activity. Perhpas the NRA ought to sponsor "The Great American Shootout" in Virginia, sell tickets for $1 a piece, and everyone take a route through the Capitol Mall on their way to the event. A million participants:)

Unfortunately, "He noted a concurrent resolution lacks legal authority as a non-binding expression of the intentions of the legislature."

Good intentions mean nothing to this administration. Grab your ankles everyone.
