Badeye, I don't think party will matter much in four years.

The republican brand is damaged beyond repair IMHO. I think civil unrest will take care of the parties as they are today. I think the biggest fear the American government should be concerned with right now, is it's people and that is likely a understatement.

I heard that the Republican ‘brand’ was damaged ‘beyond repair’ for the first time in 1975. I heard it again in January of 1977. I heard it again in 1992 and 1993.

It ignores the simple fact that 46 million voted for ‘the other guy’ this time around, one that spend much of the previous seven years intentionally pissing off the entire GOP base.

We also heard the same said about the Democratic Party in 1981, 1984, 1988, and again in 02, 04.

Its become something of an urban myth that is predicated on which party won the last race or two, and ignores history.

The republican brand is damaged beyond repair IMHO.

Most folks believed that in 1977, as well.

We keep hearing this. What does it mean? Why is the Democrat "brand" so superior to the Republican brand? What makes Democrats so appealing?
