It's sad how far we've fallen. My father required his students to bring their firearms to school. How else were they going to compete on days of Rifle Team matches? Other students brought their guns into school (on the bus) to work on in Shop.

Many people today are so ignorant of our country that they can't conceive of such a thing, nor of the much lower crime rates we had. :-(

Man, when I was in High School, late 60s, I was the Brigade armorer for the better part of three years. I had about 30 .22cal rifles, mostly Wichester 52Cs and Ds, with a few Remington 513Ts. At one time we had 40 operable M1 Garands but they were traded for demilled ‘03 Springfields. Any firearms that were brought to school were under my care.

At various times I had SKSs, a BAR, M1 Thompson and M60 NG as well as various sporting firearms.

Ah those were the days

Regards
