It may be freezing here but it's too warm for some polar bears: Amazing pictures of the world's most endangered creatures
By MAIL FOREIGN SERVICE 07th February 2009
A formidable hunter and powerful swimmer, the polar bear is perfectly adapted to the harsh demands of the wild Arctic landscape.
And these extraordinary pictures give a more intimate portrait of its life than ever before.
Whether diving under water, rolling in the ice alongside a cub or moving in for a breathtaking close-up, these images capture its raw beauty and amazing grace.

Those are great pictures but the Global Warming message is a lie. There are now more polar bears than ever.
If the envirowackos like the author hadn’t banned freon, we could put some air conditioners in for the PBs up in the Arctic. That would cool them off. There were approximately 5000 - 10,000 PBs left back in the 60s. The number is between 20,000 to 25,000 right now.
Polar Bears have survived much hotter weather than is predicted according to the flawed models used by the environazis. Funny those bears pictured didn’t look like they were dying or in the least bit perturbed. The photographer must be channeling John Edwards with an uncanny analgous ability to read the suffering minds of these creatures.
Gotta wonder if they taste like chicken?
Joke, it’s a joke. I don’t eat polar bears. I eat manatees.
Stalked?!!!
Too funny. Satire, right?
Nah, tastes like halfway between a condor and a bald eagle.
The photos I saw at the link look like the polar bears are having a great time. Maybe these animals are sick of the cold--did the enviros ever think of that? :)
That looks like the polar bear we have at our zoo in Worcester MA. Yeah, you read that right. Winter, Summer, Spring and Fall, the bear wanders around his little enclave, and every now and then, when he wants to take the heat off, he jumps in his cool little pool, and we can watch him swim around. Seems they don’t need ice and snow, after all, cause that’s only around here for about 4 months out of the year.
Now if the Polar Bears are hungy because there’s no ice floes on which to surprise the seal, then why not eat the stupid arctic fox that is right behind him.
I was wondering if my 7.62 x 54R would take one down.
:)
Uh, the biggest thing you have?
I like to use an M2.
See, you and I are too uneducated to understand. But fortunately, the caption writer makes it all clear. It's actually the polar bear that is in danger, because the arctic fox is "stalking" it.
RUN, POLAR BEAR, RUN!!!!
That was fun.
There are some fine polar bears in the Singapore Zoo; been there for years, seem to enjoy it ....
An M2?!
Damn, you must go after the whole herd at once!
Nah, I just want the one charging me to fall down and play dead.
;)
I went to our local zoo when the temp was 112F. I have a few pictures of various animals lying panting on the ground.
And a lot of pictures of polar bears. They were leaping from an artificial rock at one end of their pool "Wheee!" SPLASH!, swimming the length of the pool, climbing out, trotting around the back to the rock "Wheee!" SPLASH! (Rinse and Repeat) Intersperse with play fighting in the pool. Then back to rock leaping.
