That, in itself, is an indictment of how far to the 'left' the American electorate has moved.
It shouldn’t. If you have a candidate at the top of the ticket that’s made a career out of attacking Republicans and what they stand for, it kinda demoralizes the masses.
Put Sarah or Bobby on the top and watch what happens to fund raising.
We've no accounting for how much of Obama's money came from overseas. There is every reason to believe that much of his money came from non-constituents.
McCain, on the other hand, limited himself by accepting public financing -- as his contribution to the hare-brained scheme of "reducing the influence of money in politics".
Accordingly, while a 4:1 ratio in spending prevailed, we just don't know whether contributions would have been in the same ratio -- if McCain had been able to accept unlimited dollars and Obama had been restricted to American sources only.
They couldn’t raise that kind of money because they played it straight. They had no clue how to circumvent the rules, ie: debit cards with unidentified donors, unidentified money from foreign countries etc etc.The Dims dared anyone to try expose what they did and they got away with it.
No, it’s indictment on how lousy McCain was (is).
