What a start for Obama

By Ralph R. Reiland
Monday, February 9, 2009

"Well, That Certainly Didn't Take Long" was the headline on Maureen Dowd's column in The New York Times last Wednesday.

Dowd, unswervingly a Bush-basher and pro-Obama over the past two years, was referring to Obama's success in knocking himself off his elevated pedestal within two weeks of his inauguration.

Obama and his "arrogant attitude" went "SPLAT" (caps in Dowd's original) after a "cascade of appointments who 'forgot' to pay taxes" and the development of a "helter-skelter stimulus package."

Rasmussen Reports survey on Feb. 2 found that only 37 percent of Americans favor the administration-endorsed stimulus package. In a Gallup survey completed on Feb. 1, Obama's approval rating is 64 percent, down 19 points since his inauguration. Six more weeks of the same and he'll be at zero.

Simply put, the King of Hope became the Emperor with No Clothes even before the magazine covers celebrating his inauguration were off the shelves at Borders and Barnes & Noble.

*snip*

A grand jury is looking into $1.5 million in taxpayers' money that ended up in the coffers of California-based CDR Financial Products after the company donated $100,000 to [Bill] Richardson to register Hispanic and American Indian voters.

Timothy Geithner, Obama's now-confirmed Treasury secretary (a job that includes control of the IRS), also failed to "jump in" and pay $34,000 on money he earned from 2001 to 2004 while working for the International Monetary Fund. "Had his (Geithner's) vote come after the Daschle news, it's likely that Geithner would be the one leaving town today," reported Newsweek on Feb. 4.

The problem is , using a USA analogy, you can’t send him back to the minors after a few weeks in the big leagues, you are stuck with him!

“Regarding the stimulus package, supposedly designed to create jobs, there’s no cut in the U.S. corporate tax rate, currently the highest in the world. For small business, the sector that created 79 percent of the net new jobs in the American economy over the past 15 years, there’s not much more than lip service in the stimulus package, i.e., tax relief that amounts to less than 2 percent of package’s various spending and tax-reform proposals.”

My husband said within 2 years, any corporation that would be able to give massive jobs would move out of the country. American assumes because everyone always has WANTED to come here, they would fight to stay in a sinking ship. I think he’s right.

Obama’s a typical political con-job. “Hope and Change” are good political slogans but when it comes to actual governing, Obama is in way over his head.

Message to the main stream media and Follywood:

You arrogant, foul-attitude pimps caused the election of this incompetent, spoiled and unqualified “leader”.
America sinks because of you. Collusion in politics is not your role and frankly, your superficial judgment created the deep divide in this country while ushering a loser into the White House.

Zero at zero. I like the sound of that.

In a Gallup survey completed on Feb. 1, Obama's approval rating is 64 percent, down 19 points since his inauguration.

So, just who did Gallup poll here? Almost 50% voted AGAINST this clown, and many Hussein voters are already disappointed with the porkulousy bill. I feel his approval numbers should be reversed - 46%.

When I see the “O” ads for Overstocked.com on TV I think of the White House...overstocked with “Choose your own adjective.”

I’m beginning to get the feeling that we might be saying “I told you so,” sooner that I originally surmised.

Haha! Gotta show that one to my 15 year old son. He’s always saying “Fail” and “Epic fail”. It must be the latest saying in high school. :)

He did. I moved from fear as he ran for office to terror when the Community-Organizer-in-Chief was sworn in.

Don't forget that Clinton got off to a rocky start and was getting dismal reviews by the middle of his first year--and still managed to get re-elected. With his legions of true believers, unlimited money, and the uncertainty that the Republicans will be able to unite around a strong candidate in 2012, it's very possible Obama'll get at least another term (assuming he doesn't become President for Life).

Chuck Todd, a liberal pundit, was on C-SPAN yesterday enthusiastically talking about how Obama might be able to mobilize the efforts of his supporters--apparently they have a database of 13 million names and even if 10% got involved at a particular moment, that's a lot of people. It sounded scary to me--a mass movement of mindless followers such as 20th-century totalitarian dictators were able to mobilize. Is that what America is headed for?
