In the weeks preceding Israel's attacks on the terrorist infrastructure on Gaza, Sid Ryan aggressively pursued his personal dream of banning Israeli academics from Canadian campuses. Those Jews, he said, are Nazis. In the weeks during which the IDF hit back at the terrorists who had been firing missiles into civilian populations in Israel for years, Naomi Klein took a reprieve from her current railing against the capitalist system to publish an article in The Nation arguing Israel is worse than South African during apartheid. The contempt of Ryan and Klein for Israel drips out of every utterance and published word, and only a fool could be blind to their visceral loathing of the Jewish state.

Fortunately, a unique opportunity exists for Canada's left (both Jewish and non-Jewish) to excise the accusation of judenhass. There have been several stories from the Middle East that merit public consideration.
