There is an anti-peanut bias in the media, now that so many people, that all of a sudden, became allergic to peanuts.

. The anti-tobacco movement worked so well, so its time to give a go at peanuts. (Just something that crossed my mind)

This has nothing to do with peanut allergy and everything to do with the maintenance people being lazy or people being greedy.

I used to be in QC for a company that extruded food bars. You are suppose to shut down the line, disassemble the equipment and clean all the dies and anything that touches the product every night. Then the lab tech is suppose to take swabs to make sure you didn't miss something.

Yes, this means that you have to hire qualified people to do the work (and they ain't cheap) and you have equipment idle for couple of hours at least but this is FOOD. You don't take shortcuts.

And this is a prime example as to why you do not. People died.
