Perhaps it was all the hoopla about the historic nature of Barack Obama's presidency. Maybe the hype of election night and all that talk about wishing our first black president well actually made us all believe, for just a fleeting moment in time, that things would not be as bad as we feared they would be. It turns out they are worse.

McCaughey reports that the bill calls for all medical treatments to be tracked electronically by a new federal bureaucracy known as the National Coordinator of Health Information Technology, which will monitor treatments to make sure your doctor is administering what the federal government considers appropriate and cost effective health care. All this is the brain child of former Senator and disgraced tax cheat Tom Daschle, who recently had to withdraw his name from nomination for Secretary of Health and Human Services.
The goal, writes McCaughey, is "to reduce costs and guide your doctor's decisions. These provisions in the stimulus bill are virtually identical to what Daschle prescribed in his 2008 book, 'Critical: What We Can Do About the Health-Care Crisis.' According to Daschle, doctors have to learn to give up autonomy and 'learn to operate less like solo practitioners.'"
Hospitals and doctors that are not "meaningful users" of the new system will face penalties. "Meaningful user is not defined in the bill. That will be left to the HHS secretary, who will be empowered to impose "more stringent measures of meaningful use over time."
Daschle says health care reform "will not be pain free." Seniors, he says, should be more accepting of the conditions that come with age instead of treating them. And you thought the government wouldn't ration your health care.

I always thought my days in medicine were numbered. I just didn’t think that d day was coming this soon - I figured I had a couple of years left. I will not and most of my colleagues will not practice under these conditions. Good luck finding a physician trained in this country if this passes.
RATS on steroids. They have the votes and they know it so they are moving at warp speed to pass every liberal bill they can think of.
We are so screwed.

Isn’t it amazing HOW FAST things are happening?
Never did I think we’d see the day-at least not in my lifetime.
Health care is limited at best here in the hills, I can’t wait to see what happens when this abomination kicks in.

Why Can’t the GOP put pressure on those three senators. I don’t understand anything anymore.
It is happening way too fast. I am sure that part of the plan was for there to be so many things going on that we couldn’t even begin to counter them all. As we find out more and more, I am sure that some of the worst cans of worms haven’t even been discovered yet.

This “thing” is almost 800 pages, as I understand. (a cool billion per page?)
No one, even an Evelyn Woods speed reader grad, can fully read and comprehend this bill in less than 12 hours! And yet that is what they seem to be doing.
Christ, even one sentence of it, that a FReeper posted here yesterday, went on for forever and made no sense whatsoever!

Over time, most governments in the history of civilization have been destroyed by external and/or internal enemies.

But how is this legal plunder to be identified? Quite simply. See if the law takes from some persons what belongs to them, and gives it to other persons to whom it does not belong. See if the law benefits one citizen at the expense of another by doing what the citizen himself cannot do without committing a crime.
Then abolish this law without delay, for it is not only an evil itself, but also it is a fertile source for further evils because it invites reprisals. If such a law — which may be an isolated case — is not abolished immediately, it will spread, multiply, and develop into a system.

Now, legal plunder can be committed in an infinite number of ways. Thus we have an infinite number of plans for organizing it: tariffs, protection, benefits, subsidies, encouragements, progressive taxation, public schools, guaranteed jobs, guaranteed profits, minimum wages, a right to relief, a right to the tools of labor, free credit, and so on, and so on. All these plans as a whole — with their common aim of legal plunder — constitute socialism.

Because those three Senators won’t listen. One of the Senate aides said the same thing happened with Jeffords. All three could jump and their states would not mind especially the two women from Maine which is a Dem state to begin with. How do you pressure someone when they have nothing to lose? If they were with the majority, they could name their price.
My Dr. warned me of this just before the election. He said after a certain age to be determined by the government, procedures and treatments would not be paid for by Medicare. Pray for a healthy old age for yourself.
But we will take care of all illegals in this country with no questions asked.
