NEW YORK (CNN) -- Well, that didn't take long. Three weeks into the new administration and the Democrats are squandering their advantage and threatening to snatch defeat from the jaws of victory.
Credit House Speaker Nancy Pelosi for getting the ball rolling. Under her leadership, House Democrats excluded Republicans from having any voice in crafting the stimulus package.
Acting like children who hadn't seen Santa Claus for eight years, House Democrats busily loaded up the bill with stuff they had been unable to get for eight years. It was payback time.
Contraception, funding for the arts, restoration of the national mall, stop-smoking programs. All while Americans lose their homes, their jobs, and their savings. It was both childish and disgraceful.

Wow, I can’t believe it. I made it through a Jack Cafferty column without throwing up. What is worse, he made sense. My only gripe is that if the One is so concerned about pork, he can take charge and threaten a veto.
BTW, the so called Stimulus Plan just passed the Senate, 61-37.
That means only three Republicans in both houses voted for the plan: Sens. Collins, Specter and Snowe.
Boy, they are going to regret this.

I have to say that I have noticed a change in tone coming from CNN. Could that be because they are tired of getting trashed in the ratings by Fox? Or maybe now that they have gotten their messiah elected they can afford to appear more balanced?
Probably a little of both.

Blaming only Pelosi is riduculous. Obama, if he really wanted a good stimulus bill, could threaten to veto this big piece of garbage and tell congress to give him a clean bill. Nope. He’s cut from the same cloth and loves all this pork as political payoff.

This wretched package is nothing more than legalizing slavery. It is turning our children and grandchildren into slaves to the DNC. They can call it what they want, but rather than deal with their own sewage, they push it onto our future generations!

This is just Jack Cafferty defending Obama by shifting blame to Pelosi. If Obama can’t control a couple of mental midgets like Pelosi and Reid, that’s his fault. And who says he’s really trying to control them anyway? He’s as far left as they are. Jack is just making excuses for Obama.
