I sure you're right but I was under the impression LD was spread through the air through improperly maintained heat and air conditioning ducts. At least that's the story I remember when it started in the mid seventies at an Legionnaire's convention in Philadelphia,IIRC.
Doesn't matter. I imagine bacteria will multiply anywhere where moisture and temperature are ideal.
