You are exactly correct, and people are being naive. if any of these three senators had reason to think that there would be repercussions-from their voters, from the party leadership, from their fellow Republican senators-they wouldn’t be adamantly taking the step they’re taking by voting with the rats. Career politicians don’t do things that way.
Those poor people who gave their lives to keep that plain away from the capitol bulding.
I told a nationally known leading conservative in a conversation I had with him on Sunday, that if Steele screws up, in just one way, many of the conservative bloggers I know will leave the party.
I consider this a screw up on his part.
He should be raining these guys in and doing it with joy in his heart.
