Three things are happening here. 1) The Rich are getting richer, 2) the middle class is picking up the tab and becoming poorer and 3) the poor are apparently too stupid to know what is happening to them and are waiting for Obama to buy their homes and cars for them.
The goal of the early Marxists was not to help the working class. That was their cover, their propaganda. The industrial revolution and especially how it was used by those who capitalized upon it given the liberty of a free market had one dramatic effect on the world's history: they created the middle class, and it was a middle class that had the mobility to become wealthy.
The goal of the early Marxists (and Fabian Socialists) was the elimination of the middle class and a return to a two-class system: the rulers and the ruled.
As you say in your quote, that's what is happening. We are watching it unfold. Those who are just getting by will watch their taxes rise to the point that they have to downgrade and join the lower classes and start receiving “government assistance,” taking from, no longer contributing to, the system. That dividing line will continue to rise and swallow up more and more of the middle class, to the upper middle class until the two-class system is restored.
