Rep. Obey is likely to be the key swing vote in whether the House E-Verify language stays in the bill.
Try imagining the absolute WORST legislative outcome on any of these issues and there you have it.
It was in the House bill, not the Senate bill. I have a feeling it was not included in the bill that just came out of conference.

The bill is designed to benefit Democrat constituencies. Illegal aliens are a Democrat constituency. Case closed.
Reid would not allow it to be brought up in the Sen bill. Sessions tried. I suspect illegals will be welcomed at the border.
I spoke to Session’s folks yesterday. They said they if they didn’t get it into this bill, they will try to attach it to other bills as an amendment. The E-Verify program must be renewed by March 6 or it expires.
If they succeed in attaching it in spite of the "US" Chamber of Commerce, ethnocentrics, and Dems, it will still be voluntary. If illegals get porkulus jobs, and amnesty passes, they would be even more grateful to the left.
