“One of them is carrying what appears to be an AR-15 or M-16, a weapon which could be fully automatic.

The robbery happened in broad daylight.

One of the suspects has been identified as 23-year-old Jesus Mendivil.

The three other men are all described as Hispanic males between 17 and 25-years-old.”

In NJ, the homeowner would have been arrested for discharging a firearm, because there is no castle doctrine. And, the perps would have a valid claim to sue the homeowner because their civil rights were violated!

Well, we don’t know the area from which the homeowner was firing. However, a nice Mossberg 590, staggered with slug and .00 throughout the magazine tube would in my opinion, serve as an effective deterrent.

What ever happened to the neighborhood bake sale?

Well, it looks like at least some of the neighbors used their share of bake sale proceeds to arm themselves. :D

Next up: a charity car wash to raise money to pay for range time for the homeowner. Looks like he could use it.

Probably kept mentally shifting targets instead of neutralizing in order of acquisition.

If you look from one to another, you won’t hit any of them.

But it does take a lot of focus when the adrenaline is pumping.

Once he got down to a single target (the windshield) he did quite well.

Bingo!

I’m just glad he was able to protect himself.

The real intent of my original comment was, “hey, if I’m ever in that position I hope I can be focused enough to hit my targets.”
If you haven’t been in that situation, you don’t really know.
