Not at all. But I am sure, somewhere in Rome we’d find an old facists would be a prick to a Jewish person, just like (if this story is true), they found some old Haredi who don’t like what they deem interlopers.

Point being, you get a paper like Haartz with an agenda, they can write the story they want, then go find some event to shoe-horn into their approved story-line.

I have been through (on a bus, thank God) a neighbourhood outside London in which I suspect that Jews would have been welcomed with spitting and worse.

I would not characterise the denizens of this neighbourhood as "English".
