Seattle, WA (LifeNews.com) -- Massive online retailer Amazon.com has dropped its listing for a controversial Japanese video game called Rapelay that involves raping women and forcing them to have abortions. The so-called "rape simulator" game was sold on the web site and included a graphic description of the gameplay.
Although a listing for the product is available through online searches, the link to it on Amazon's web page no longer functions.
Gaming web sites that have reviewed the simulation describe the "tears glistening in the young girl's eyes" as the player attacks her in graphic detail.

Devil's advocate time: Why is it ok to have games that simulate murder but not rape? Rape is no more abhorrent than murder.
Disclaimer: I am merely trying to point out a double standard and am not saying video games with rape in them are ok.

That is a good point, although a bit specious. While I can’t speak about such specific games as Grand Theft Auto, as I have never played it, I will say that all the many games I have played have violence in an appropriate context, i.e., war, against aliens, self defense, etc. The point is, I’m not aware of any video game that sports murder as having any gaming value.
The particular game in this article suggests rape and abortion for some twisted and prurient thrill. That is sick.

The Japanese are pretty f’d up. My friend and I had a discussion on Anime porn one day, so we did some research in it (out of amusement only). Turns out all of it involves RAPE.

I was in the military with a guy who was into that stuff.
My buddy and I walked in a caught him watching it while performing some self pleasuring, it was disturbing.
My mind associates cartoons with childhood not porn.
Yes, they are sick.

Interesting topic: Video game and movie content and why they are treated differently by the ratings associations (ESRB and MPAA), by the press, and by users/customers. Some PG-13 movies contain more 'adult' content than M-rated games.
Another point to ponder - Why are there tens of thousands of X to XXX movies but very few AO (Adult Only) games?
