Good point, I guess. Is there not a greater penalty for first than second?

Is there not a greater penalty for first than second?

Sometimes there is, but many times the sentence for second is 25 to life. First may be life with not chance for parole.

If a guy is 45, he will be 70 before he can be paroled. Many do not live to 70, so it is about the same.
