A British Airways passenger plane arriving from Amsterdam crash-landed at London's City Airport on Friday but all 67 passengers and four crew were safely evacuated, emergency services said. A British Airways statement said the nosewheel of the aircraft failed on landing.
"As a precaution the emergency slides were deployed and the passengers were evacuated down the slides onto the runway," BA added.
The London Ambulance Service said four people were treated for minor injuries, but no one was taken to hospital. A spokeswoman for the airport said flight BA8456 had landed on the runway despite the damage to the nosewheel.

3’s. That’s two. Where’s the third one going to happen?
The one that came down in the Hudson, the one last night in New York and this one. That’s three.
Then why doesn’t the one before these crashes or the next one make four?
I didn’t know there was one before this one recently. My apologies.

Interesting observation :) But what about last night’s crash ?
Ok. We’re done! Whew!
Hey - you’re talking to somebody who throws salt over his shoulder after a spill, won’t put a hat on a bed, and won’t even go near a ladder unless I have to.
And you expect rationality? :)
Just sayin'... :)
Airbus? not an uncommon fault for them.
I’ll correct myself.
Avro RJ100
Ping.
Interesting point about this...London City Airport has a very non-standard approach to landing because of where it is, a short runway surrounded by tall buildings and water. Most airports have a glideslope (descent angle to the runway) of about three degrees down. London City’s is 5.5 degrees, almost twice as steep as usual. There’s Youtube videos out there of some VERY hard landings at LCY, many of them by Avro RJs and BAe 146s (the Avro’s predecessor). The Avro/BAe planes are the most common ones into LCY because of their excellent steep descent and short field capability.
BTW, Airbus A318s are certified to operate into LCY starting this year, with some special modifications.

I know I may get jumped for sayin’ this, but I’m sorry, that plane has no where near enough wing to be flyin’ anywhere near Buffalo this time of year!
It’s like the O ring of Discovery, (was it?), they could’ve waited for a warmer day to launch and it would have been fine.
Some how the common sense gets ejumacated out of “smart’ folks.
