From people in the industry, advertising is drying up. One agency we know of, which used to occupy three floors, is now down to one and rents space for photography when they need it.

I am getting at least 3x the usual calls, media packages and emails begging for advertising. I have a wholesale business with 24 years of market presence and don’t need to advertise. Sales are down not because people don’t know what I have or don’t want it. It is down because people are not buying much except essentials. My husband has a 13-year-old service business that survives and grows on word of mouth. He is doing well and doesn’t need to advertise. If he did, he can do all the work himself and do targeted direct mail.

The media is hurting because of lack of advertising. They are already the monopoly for anything except direct mail. This recession is the first one in my 44 year business life where the response is not to increase ads. The market is shrinking and the disposable income is, too.

This is insult added to injury for the media. Serves them right.

Imagine the Nightly News without Pharm commercials. I've been Boneva, Lipitrol, and Cialised out. These commercials give me a headache that last four hours.

In a market economy, getting the message out is everything. Perhaps, we're sliding into something less than a market economy- a 'command' economy. Like China.

Whatever the major networks have to gain by throwing their support behind a socialist administration defies logic. Their lack of criticism of Obysmal and his cronies, their lack of vetting of the guy during the primaries, all speak to either an ineptitudeness or collusion with Teleprompter Messiah.

Maybe they see themselves as the 'voices' of the New Revolution, The Change that is being bandied about. Man, are they that dumb? (don't have to answer that, they're liberals, so the answer must be 'yes')
