If the Fairness Doctrine gets reinstated, sattelite radio will take off fast. One would expect so. If they're still in business by then.

take a look at the companies that advertise on Talk Radio from a market capitalization standpointGeneral Motors sponsors Rush. Granted their market cap isn't what it used to be...But overall I think you may be right. growing concerns need to establish name recognition and talk radio is the best medium for that. Established large cap firms don't need that kind of exposure. CocaCola is a pretty familiar name in America by now.

“The only reason uber liberal PBS radio stays on the air is government subsidy and their begathons that harangue their few listeners into buying subscriptions.”
But they also offer tote bags.

'If PBS actually had to compete for an audience they would have been out of business decades ago.' 'Nuff said.
...If there's a choice between listening to whiners like Bill Press (Hugh Hewitt has had him on his show to debate plenty of issues, so I definitely know what this guy's like) and watching paint dry, well...I'm sure no one could really tell the difference, although the paint watching would win hands down.

Really not worth having it's own post but here's the current story of liberal talk radio's reigning queen Randi Rhodes and why she's been off the air for the last couple of weeks and may not be back. My guess is she's either in rehab or in this round of contract negotiations her parent company is finally going to pay her only what she's really worth and not what she thinks she's worth.
