Well thank you 60Gunner, good words and true. My kids are grown and gone and now we reenforce eternal values to their kids, our grandkids. We’ve experienced homeschooling (it works but not without sacrifice of course), and we’ve also taken the fight to our local leaders and school officials (which also works).
I have seen law proposals dropped or changed because of no more than THREE letters from the public, that’s how rare writing a real letter is. One “official” told me that one letter is equivalent to a thousand responses in that bureaucracy’s way of thinking! Ponder this.
As a believer, one is to STAND UP to evil, in the right manner of course but STAND UP nevertheless, and, having done all else, to STAND. Are we afraid that someone may not “like” us? Review Proverbs again and again, in there is great guidance, well, in all Scripture but Proverbs offers much in concise bites and let me remind us all, flattery is an abomination so forget “kissin’ up”, fight with truth. Wisdom is finer than gold.
Thanks 60Gunner, and blessings...
I’m joining the Democrat Party so I can fight them from within. I plan on messing with their caucus and primaries, and want them to spend a ton of money on me with their junk mail. They gave us John McCain and I intend to return the favor.
Since ideas and discussions are ways to create a plan, what WOULD happen if we all switched party affiliation to the democratic one?
Would it give them a false sense of hope so they might relax a bit, thinking they have convinced the majority?
Would it cause the republican party to fight harder to create a platform?
What if all of us as democrats sent money to the republican party incognito?
How skewed would it make the 2010 election if we were able to vote in their primaries en masse? Comments? Suggestions?
BUMP!
We can’t complain if we don’t campaign.
I most respectfully yet firmly assert that the answer lies in one simple act: holding up the light. Those who are drawn to it will come. Those who are repelled by it will be known by their acts. Thus will the lines for the next battle be drawn- clearly and unmistakably.
But this time, we must allow no room for the 'moderates.' If a person is against only one of our founding principles, he or she is against all of them.
There can be no wavering or soft-heartedness. Our nation was founded by Christian principles and Divine providence. Our party's core values hold to those tenets. Any deviation is a deviation from those principles. As Dietrich Bonhoeffer said, "Christ plus anything is antichrist; Christ minus anything is antichrist."
As for the moderate Judases who have infiltrated our party, we must eliminate every single one of them.
Consider this: Nowhere in God's word does Good peacefully coexist with evil. Darkness cannot coexist with light. Either good is destroyed, or evil is destroyed. There are no moderates in Heaven or Hell.
Thus, I humbly submit that- at least in my opinion- holding fast and holding up the light will be far more effective, and will serve to clearly delineate whose side on which one chooses to be.
While I agree with the tenents you put forth, I must point out one flaw which perhaps now is only becoming evident. The light being held up around the outside of the party, does not penetrate the darkenss inside. A candle here and a candle there inside the party, will brighten the darkest recesses of the party, not just the outside circle. If we are willing to start a revolution and die for this country, as the founding fathers were, perhaps taking the party over from the inside and purging it of socialists/marxists would be a more bloodless but effective method. To change the democratic party back to the party of my grandparents would not be a bad thing,IMHO.....
The democratic party is not evil, the socialist regime that has hijacked the democratic party over the last 50 years is evil. Purging the socialists by undermining them is what I am talking about.
*BUMP*
I see your point. Kind of like Gideon’s army infiltrating the enemy camp in darkness and then unmasking their torches. It is an intriguing thought...
My local GOP is full of moderate, don’t get in their face types. I am not that type, and don’t feel comfortable around them. They don’t want me or need me.
