I agree with you. My family and I were talking yesterday about some of this. Our concern is with Mexico imploding (and many more Mexicans coming here) and the recession or if it gets to a depression, fewer jobs, etc. people are going to be desperate and hungry and willing to do whatever to get what they need.
I found out this week about the number of gangs we have here (18 different ones) and those that are very dangerous gangs.
I will have no problem with defending myself or what I have. However, we are in town so living off the land could be a issue.
Wise to worry about that. I think that had a lot to do with GW's illegal immigrant stance. Send 10-20 million illegals home, cut off mexico's largest income stream (remittances from the US) and it implodes with millions rushing the border as chaos reigns and millions in the border states rushing the border from the north to help out relatives.

If Mexico suffers the economic collapse that many international economists predict, they will overrun Texas and Arizona first, bringing even more gangs and drug traders with them, not to mention a tsunami of illegals.
And you know that the Obama administration, or Obamination, for short, won't do a damn thing to stop it. Hell, they'll encourage it and won't give a dime of federal money to assist these two beseiged states if they should refuse to provide any services to them or try to stop them.
I listened to a report about how Phoenix's police chief has to approve of any order for a "long gun," which is basically everything that is not a handgun. I heard that it takes 10 months for the Phoenix police to get an order of long guns and that they have like 20-40 tops, but the bad guys they are facing are all armed with machine guns. If the police are outgunned, then what hope do the citizens have of being protected? The answer is that they have to defend themselves.
Every US citizen living in the Southwest needs to exercise his or her 2nd Amendment rights now before it becomes impossible for honest, upstanding US citizens to do so. The Southwest will be just for starters, because once their resources are overloaded, it will spread northward into other states.
Remember that the US government sentenced two government border agents to prison for 20 years just for trying to defend themselves and this country from a Mexican drug runner driving a van containing 800 lbs of marijuana. A man who has rounded up over 10,000 illegals who crossed onto his land is being sued by 32 of them for "pain and suffering."
With the Obamination looking to protect illegals over the rights of US citizens, what do you think will happen when the flood starts?
