Naw, the Government just put a registration fee on bikes, and since he hadn’t paid it yet it was impounded.

Prototype I’d bet, in the neighborhood of $7000. For a rider that level, the ride is typically provided by the team sponsor.

I don’t think 7k would cover the cost of the frame.

Way more than $7K, I would guess. Maybe even 2X.

He should know to thread a lock through the frame, not just the front wheel. j/k

Seriously, that sucks a lot. Unbelievable, really.

$7k won’t touch it. Carbon fiber frame, and a whole bunch of one-off space age super lightweight parts. His regular ride is $15k plus..............red

Yes, that is why I wrote 7k would cover the cost of frame.

I Have a Merlin titanium frame that I paid about 4K for and that is just the frame.

About twenty years ago in Houston, a triathlete friend’s bike was stolen. She had reported it to HPD. One of the officers located the bike not long afterwards, and he described it as “a hundred dollar kid on a thousand dollar bike”..

My prediction: the genius who stole the thing will put it up for sale on EBay or Craigslist

You can still get a Schwinn cruiser at Wal Mart for just over 100 dollars. (Made in China)
