I wouldn’t take it if they picked me up at my front door.
Anything less than 500 miles I wouldn’t even consider taking a plane and under no condition a bus or train.
IIRC there is a private firm working on just such a train route. Harry’s move cuts them off at the knees.
” Dont know how well pay for it........but it would be very cool.”
Just like all public transportation, the riders wouldn’t pay the daily help amd energy cost to run it.
A ticket on the HR Super Xpress will proabably be more expensive than a plane ticket.
It sounds as useless as T*ts on a bull.
Besides, the Messiah has made it a mortal sin to go to Vegas!
You don’t understand. Harry Reid has extensive real estate holdings right on the proposed right-of-way of this new mag-lev high-speed line. Or at least the route would be steered through that land holding.
Times are HARD. Got to get it any way you can.
“It’s hard out there for a Pimp......”
High speed rail from LA to Las Vegas? Of course! Gotta make it easy for those gamblers to get to Harry’s state, dontcha know.
If it was actually a great idea, some private firm would have built it already.
I see. Thanks.
I was speaking for myself...obviously.
I believe I did read something about it somewhere, sometime.
Bald face lairs.
Here is an LA Times article from 2006, who is that guy to to LEFT of Reid in the picture ???
Ugh!
Something I came across a while ago during the campaign... Some Freeper wrote this, I thought it was pretty good:
Theyre On A Road to Nowhere (Were On A Road To Nowhere by Talking Heads)
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=sQXsuAey-NE
Well, he told us hes chosen
But he dont know its the end
And we know what theyre token

And Baraks little children

Would you like to come along, Barry? N help John sing her song?
Its all right, Barry, she can fight!
Shes appealing, and so fine. Just a mom who blows your mind!
And shes all RIGHT! Barry, its her night!
And youre very far away, but shes growing day by day!

And shes won the fight! Barry, its our delight!
Youre on a road to nowhere
Hey!
Youre on a road to nowhere
Whaaah!
Youre on a road to nowhere
Aye, Aye!
Youre on a road to nowhere.
Looks like a Mudboy Slim song!
Reading around the internet, it seems that this is a $37 billion project, they estimated it would generate $500 million in profit, if built immediately by 2015.
Assuming half of those profits were funneled back to the taxpayers (250 million annually); which is a big assumption, it would only take 148 years to pay for itself.
Maglevs are cool and all, but this is a dead-end tunnel to nowhere but debt.
