All these dupes of the national Republican Party, I mean.
Just a few months ago John McCain was promising a plan that would have created a budget deficit equal to or greater than the one now being created by Barack Obama.
But now that it's Obama who's in the White House, the Beltway Republicans are trying to convince us that they've seen the light and converted to fiscal conservatism.

Cutting taxes while doing nothing about the size of government is sheer lunacy. If being “conservative” these days means proposing tax cuts because the cuts will bring in even more money to the government, then the word has lost all meaning. Cutting spending is conservative. Cutting government is conservative. Cutting taxes while continually increasing government is destroying the country. All “conservatives” have to offer anymore is more tax schemes to more efficiently rob us. This is not conservative.
The Republicans mistake in the primaries was that instead of saying, “Ron’s right on a lot of issues but...” disagreeing with him on foreign policy, they pilloried his economic ideas, small governmetn ideas, et al. That left a bad taste in my mouth.
They were still fighting so THEY could play Santa with the Treasury instead of the Dems. That was/is the wrong game to play.
PS - Good luck funding a war in Iraq or anyplace else with these deficits.

I suppose you think McQueeg would of been any different. Man, you are NOT paying attention.
That’s how I always felt. I think the GOP disenfranchised a lot of libertarian and potential Republican voters with their behavior towards Paul. To be fair I think a lot of those people were kind of wacko and out there, but if they saw that the GOP was embracing limited government and at the very least welcoming some differing views, it would have gone a lot further than just dismissing Paul.
So if Ron Paul was the savior why did he NOT warn us about what the liberals were doing to the economy. Seems to me he was far more concerned in stopping US from fighting barbaric uncivilized terrorists in their own sand pits, than preserving our economy.
I never paid much attention to Ron Paul especially went he ranted against the ‘war’, but I have no memory of him warning anybody about the looming housing bubble and the liberal bankers spreading toxic debt through out the economic system.

McManiac was the last choice for most Republicans...he was still far better than Obama.
We are already seeing what the Dems are going to do on GW, Gitmo. Wait till you see what comes down the road on illegal immigration....I expect the Dems will give them immediate citizenship and reparations for their treatment at the hands of Republicans. We certainly won’t need GWB’s fence anymore.
Even though McQueeg was wrong on those issues and others, he would have been nowhere near as radical as the Dems. We would have had the opportunity to fight them...
