Opposition politicians elected as mayors and state governors last November have found it hard to exercise power. In Caracas the new mayor, Antonio Ledezma, has suffered an occupation of the city hall and other buildings by armed chavistas. The government has refused to intervene, saying that the occupations are a response to Mr Ledezmas refusal to renew the contracts of thousands of workers hired by his chavista predecessor. I see this as what the feds will do if the states continue to pursue the 10th amendment sovereignty movement.
However, states also have their share of armed representatives.
States have Citizens, which have the right to keep and bear arms... using those arms is the obvious way to exercise such right.
So, is the Economist talking about Venezuela in 2009, or the United States in 2014?
Something has to set it off first.
The people are not yet hungry, afraid, or pissed off yet.
Q:What will be the 1 thing that sets the people off?
A:Another massive terrorist attack that detroys what left of our economy.
It will also be the end of liberalism.
