You know, maybe a little more “government oversight” is just what we need. As long as we do it my way.

Unfortunately, that's the problem with 'government oversight'. Americans are generally okay with it as long as it affects what someone else wants to do, but not when it directly impacts them. Sadly, they vote in those in favor of much 'government oversight' (i.e. Obama, Kerry, Pelosi) and then realize too late that they made a mistake.
