Should have never happened in the first place. I disagree. It's long overdue. Continuing to use the old NTSC broadcast system would be about like continuing to operate 19th century coal burning locomotives on the railroads. The new system is much more efficient.

It’s pretty amazing NTSC lasted as long as it did; about 60 years. Color, closed-captioning, second-audio-source, and stereo sound were all add-ons to the original NTSC format.
