One of the serious questions should be: How long before both the “blue states” and the “red states” possibly decide to separate from each other and then form their own countries, if they ever do decide to form their own countries?
I have a few ideas what the “Red, new” America’s constitution should have in it’s Bill of Rights (in no particular order):
* English is the official language of the nation
* Citizenship is not an automatic right even if you are born here
* Use of the ‘Poll Tax’
* No restrictions on the ‘Right to Bear Arms’
* Supreme Court/Federal Court/all judges are either appointed/elected for ‘x’ terms or ‘x’ years. No more of this lifetime appointment crap (apologies to great jurists like Scalia)
* Term limits on all elected officials
* No Democratic/liberal/etc. party
Basically, just do the opposite of what is done in Massachusetts - it will work out great!!!!!!
I have been wondering if anyone will apply a “blue state” “red state” analysis to how money is doled out under the porkulus bill. My hunch is that fiscally responsible red states will end up subsidizing binge spending in blue states.
The blue states will never let it happen peacefully.
