Holder's "cowards" remark draws anger
The Washington Times ^ | 2/20/09 | Jennifer Harper

Americans spelled it out in black and white.

The public discourse on race relations rattled with mixed emotions after Attorney General Eric H. Holder Jr.'s bold assertion that the U.S. is a "nation of cowards" when addressing the realities of the ethnic melting pot.

Dear Eric:

Go to the Gettysburg Cemetery, gaze out upon a few of the graves of the 400,000 who drained their blood into the soil to free the slaves, and make your “Holder’s Gettysburg Address.”

Tell it to the Honored Dead.

....if you’re not too much of a coward.

Perhaps if the Democrats discontinued the practice of reminding Blacks they’re different and putting them down at the drop of a hat with fake apologies following... then Blacks might think they’re just like everyone else... because it must be tough to go around with a chip on their shoulders all the time... when prompted to do so by the likes of Al Sharpton and Jesse Jackson...

Republicans would have to be absolute fools to take Holder’s bait.
Let the Democrats gather ‘round and have a big happy racial circle jerk among themselves.

I agree. He should be ignored and left to dangle in the wind.

His type of speechifying finds justification in ANY response—if agreement, he can say “See, I’m speaking for many,” while if it meets with disagreement, he can say “See, I told you this kind of thing is too much for these cowards.”

Just leave him there with the crickets chirping.

Hey Holder,

It takes strength to say nothing when you know “protected classes” are given favorable treatment because of their skin color for employment, promotion, and training. That they are protected by special laws, and have special entitlements.........

It takes professionalism to enforce policies and support leaders you know are unqualified and indignant.

It takes moral corage to still treat all people with dignity and respect.

But don’t piss on my head and tell me it’s raining.

Notice how black responses from the DOJ were all overwhelmingly positive about this incendiary remark? From the black perspective, calling the rest of us cowards was preaching to the choir. Calling Holder a crook is racist. Calling him a corrupt attorney is racist. But him calling us cowards is just ‘telling the truth’.

Rush was right. With a black president, the racist hustlers are now MORE likely to make everything about race because they are all out of business if the convention wisdom sinks in that America electing a black dude means that racism ISN’T such a big deal.

i m a publik scewl teechur. I always read To Kill a Mockingbird with my seniors and package it with a research paper. We discuss the “n” word because it is used in the book. Of course the consensus is that blacks can say it and whites can’t (we are 49% minority). Also, they claim that the “a” at the end is different from the “er”. A white student came up with a simple but brilliant example. He told a black student to pretend to be blind. He then said that he was going to greet her with the word. Finally he said that in order to be offended, she (the black student) would have to ask him what his race is.

Someone should have asked Holder how he talks to white people about race.

Bingo! It is going to come back to bite this Administration and the Congress — how do they think ZERO got elected? Blacks do not have the numbers to elect a President and even then I know a lot of Blacks that did NOT vote for Obama because he had ZERO experience thus the name ZERO.

Throwing this in the faces of white Americans is not going to gain Holder or ZERO one thing except a disgust that is growing by the day at this Administration and their lack of class. Our problem is that we pay taxes!

Right. It’s the ultimate race-card. Played by the AG. To distract from and confuse the main issue in front of us all, like a giant rampaging...elephant...which is the systematic rip-off of the American taxpayer.

The real cowards are those who hide behind the mantle of “victimhood”, taking no personal responsibility for their failures and shortcomings. Holder, show us you really have learned from experience and your mistakes and grow a figgin backbone!
