On Fridays Newsroom program, CNN anchor Heidi Collins failed to mention ACORNs role in sponsoring a rally against foreclosures in an Oakland, California neighborhood. During her brief, video clips from the protest clearly showed the presence of the groups signs, name, and logo.
Collins characterized the rally as [a]nger over the foreclosure crisis pouring out into the streets of Oakland, California -- protesters had a rally in a neighborhood where last month, more than 165 people lost their homes, or now face the possibility of foreclosure. Theyre vowing to stop the banks from taking control of the properties.
Local media in the San Francisco Bay area did a better job of covering the protest. A news brief in the San Francisco Chronicle on Friday mentioned ACORN by name: Community group ACORN...is launching a campaign to encourage families in foreclosure to refuse to leave their homes. The group staged a rally...at the East Oakland home of Rosa Gonzalez, who has been foreclosed upon but not evicted. ACORN held similar events at foreclosed homes in Los Angeles, New York, Tucson, Baltimore, Orlando and Houston. About 100 ACORN members and local residents listened to speeches urging a moratorium on foreclosures.

Thanks God for the Magic Fairy who can pay for all for all of these mortgages, bailouts and new spending.
Where would we be without her?
In a way this might be a good thing as these people, through their lawlessness, set the stage for the armed resistance that will be part and parcle of any gun siezure attempt.
ACORN helped these people get INTO trouble. A responsible, pardon my pun, “Journalist” would have noted people protesting their own mistake.
CNN is a joke. That 66% of the public watches Fox News maeans that it’s not just conservatives watching.
Where is the outrage?
1. The feds demanded loans be given to unqualified people.
2. Thsoe people were given loans they clearly couldn’t service.
3. Those loans defaulted.
4. Lending institutions were severely damaged by the default of so many loans.
5. The feds jumped in to stop the foreclosures.
6. The banks are now being blocked from liquidating those properties.
7. The feds are seriously considering nationalizing the banks.
8. This was the plan all along.
Where is the outrage? And frankly, both political parties participated in this fiasco. Well strike that. Fiasco is a screw up. This couldn’t have been planned better.
That’s the beauty of this. We have a government managed melt down. The private infrastructure is about the be nationalized. Any insurrection will be grounds for disarming the populace.
The government is about to implant electrodes so they can keep tabs on us 24/7. Couldn’t have been planned better IMO.
CNN protecting Obama’s secret police/brownshirts.
is Heidi teh hot red head? I like her better with mute on.
>> 8. This was the plan all along.
I’m not sure about #8. That’s a bit generous.

ACORN is aiding and abetting a crime. They should be criminally prosecuted.
I believe your emphasis is that I may be giving them too much credit, with the premise they managed us to this point on purpose.
The initial step of this plan was one that I can’t see how anyone could sign on to, unless they wanted to destroy our lending institutions.
Literally millions (perhaps tens of millions) of home loans were extended to people who were guaranteed not to be able to service them. The idea that wouldn’t crush our lending institutions, is a no sale premise.
The rest fell in to line, as they knew it would.
Left wing think tanks have only one thing in mind. They want ultimate control. Unfortunately, the Republican think tanks fail to grasp how desperately the left wants power, and what they will do when they have it.
The left implemented this plan, the Republicans were either too stupid to grasp it, or too dumb to oppose it. So here we are. The Republicans held the White House for 12 of the last 20 years, and the Congress for 12 of the last 20 years.
And look where we are.
I may be in the minority, but I think this was planned. The left is sucking up power and leverage at a pace that will see the whole nation sucked into a leftist black hole. And the Republicans are as much to blame as the left IMO.
I agree. I wouldn’t stop there. The agency should be shut down.
Obama probably wants massive civil disobedience so he can have an excuse for the big national police force he wants at his command.
CNN. No lie to bold to tell. No Dem scandal too big to spin.
Lou Dobbs, excepted.
You have just connected all of the dots.
>> The initial step of this plan was one that I cant see how anyone could sign on to, unless they wanted to destroy our lending institutions.
High political risk in terms of the strategy you’re describing. That step could have easily backfired.
>> The left implemented this plan, the Republicans were either too stupid to grasp it, or too dumb to oppose it.
I think the ongoing goals of Liberalism support ‘the plan’, but an apathetic or ignorant GOP would have been necessary for the industry’s degeneration. Again, risky and unlikely from a strategic planning point. Nonetheless, the GOP did not prevent the crisis.
>> So here we are. The Republicans held the White House for 12 of the last 20 years, and the Congress for 12 of the last 20 years.
>> And look where we are.
Both parties shifted Left. Liberalism overtook the Democrats, and Centrism weakened the GOP.
>> I may be in the minority, but I think this was planned.
To disagree might be splitting hairs.
Nice!
